About the blog

This blog database of species covers my main local birding/wildlife patches as well as sightings from my garden in Banstead Surrey. They consist of Banstead Woods & Chipstead Downs (BW&CD LNR), Canons Farm & Dungeon Hill along with the neighbouring sites Park Downs & a small area of Hengest Farm.
Park Downs is around 74 acres in size and has S.S.S.I status. Banstead Woods & Chipstead Downs became a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) on 22nd June 2017. Besides the birds the areas are known for a diverse array of plants, insects & Butterflies.
See Useful links & click on the links for more detailed information & pictures for two of the main sites.
Please note that many of the sightings are from other observers as indicated with a *.
